Some cat safety rules:
- Don't let you cat play with tiny items. It can get injured or choked.
-
Be careful when kitten play with strings or threads. They can do serious damage to the intestials if swalloved.
Keep aluminum foil and cellophane candy wrappers away from pets. They can cause vomiting and intestinal blockage.
Cover deep holes and drains and other places that a cat can crawl in to.
Always keep your cat in a secure carrier when traveling.
-
-
Keep drapery cords and blind pulls and other dangling strings away from the kitten as they can loop around the neck or legs.
-
Check cloths dryers, and dish washers before closing.
Always close the toilet lids to prevent cat from falling in the water and drown. -
-
- A lot of our most common plants are poisonous to cats.
Especially lilys are dangerous and can be deadly.
Should your cat eat part of a poisonous plant, rush the cat to your veterinarian as soon as possible. If you can, take the plant with you for ease of identification.
Don't give your cat chocolate.
Chocolate contains naturally occurring methylxanthines caffeine and theobromine. The concentration of theobromine is much higher than that of caffeine, but both cause toxicity in cats (and dogs).
